See And Hear My Commercial Voiceover Work

Commercial Voiceovers by Mark Ryes

Client Brief – Website building giant Wix, wanted to run an advertising campaign utilising the Manchester City Football team as their campaign’s background. The read they wanted for the commercial’s voiceover was a naturalistic read that incorporated the classic football commentator to match the ad’s aesthetic.

What I did – The production company sent over videos of the edited advert for me to match the script’s timing to. I offered several versions, playing with the intensity of the football commentator delivery and returned a first pass of audio for them to approve. I went on to record 4 more batches of commercial voiceover for Wix for their following web commercials. The results and our ongoing relationship speak for themselves.
Client Testimonial – “Thanks again for your great work! We wanted to maintain the sports caster feel, but didn’t want it to be distracting or in any way hard to understand. Working with you has been a pleasure for us, and we will be sure to keep you in mind for upcoming projects as well.”
Client Brief – Pearman Briggs needed an energetic commercial voiceover to freshen up their existing advert for their motorhome and caravan range. They wanted an exaggerated 1980’s announcer, Magnum PI style voice to go with their jingle – and they knew I was the voiceover for the job.
What I did – The production company sent the original fixed timing jingle to record along to with the script. I sent over several versions but keeping it strictly to their initial direction of that exaggerated style, which they had been very specific on.
Client Testimonial – “Mark recorded several Pearman Briggs adverts for us, and each time complemented the sung jingle perfectly. It was just the right amount of exaggerated announcer voice that made for a successful campaign.”
Client Brief – Tomy required a powerful delivery to provide an ear-catching element to their already eye-catching advert for their latest ‘Lightseekers’ toy range. They wanted a style that would appeal to kids and adults alike.
What I did – The production company sent a storyboard and script, and asked for a fast-paced voiceover that could be cut for both a 30 and 60-second commercial. Within a few days they had the recording for the commercial voice acting back, and the results speak for themselves.
Client Testimonial – “Five stars! We really liked it!”

Frequently asked questions

Commercial Voiceover

I understand your Basic Session Fee charge (BSF), but I think that you might charge for usage. Why?

It’s all about copyright. Because, even if you own the copyright of the script itself, the voiceover artist, by law, owns the rights to their actual performance. To read more about this please go to https://www.gravyforthebrain.com/voiceover-licensing-a-guide-for-hirers/

Where do you get your rates from?
I follow the rates guide published by Gravy for the Brain (an international voiceover education service) – you can see it here: https://rates.gravyforthebrain.com/
Can you record a sample for me?

Yes of course, I’m happy to provide a free sample of a few lines of your script, so that we can lock down the style for you. You can send me a sample of your script to mark@britishvoiceover.co.uk and I’ll send you back a recording.
