Client Brief – My client contacted me to be their e-learning voiceover artist for a series of Cyber Security videos which go to a worldwide audience. They wanted a clear, trusted and British tone that would be light-hearted in places, but still able to convey a serious message.
What I did – I aimed for a friendly but authoritative read for this piece, as I’m always happy to provide an interpretation if the client isn’t entirely certain of the delivery they want. I also carried out some character voice acting for the additional cameo roles so my client would only have need for one voice actor for their entire e-learning project.

Client Brief – Jincom are a communications company based in South Africa with several UK clients, so they needed a trusted, serious British voice for their health & safety animations for Lendlease. This video is part of a series showing employees a previous incident and teaching them how to avoid the same happening in the future.
What I did – As they had requested, I used “a serious corporate tone” for this series. I also cut each line individually as requested by the producer, as I’m always happy to deliver audio in specific formats or styles if requested.

Client Brief – My client needed a softly spoken compassionate British e-learning voiceover for an NHS funded series of e-learning courses on Safeguarding. The production company chose me because I had a good range and were confident I could produce different styles for the numerous courses that were in production.
What I did – I initially went back to the producer about using a softer style for the e-learning performance as the subject was extremely sensitive. I also made sure to nail down the delivery very specifically due to the long length of the project, topping out at several thousand words. Despite some relatively technical language at times, I was always sure to research any pronunciation before I self-recorded and sent the audio back in sections as requested.

I know e-learning scripts are charged by the word - do you do that?
Standard rates for e-learning in the UK are between £0.15 and £0.60 per word (the higher rates usually being for celebrity voices and the lower rates for inexperienced people new to voiceover). The average is usually £0.30 per word. Numbers and abbreviations are treated as separate words (e.g. 4032 is five words “four thousand and thirty-two”). There is sometimes an extra cost for file-splitting depending on how many files you need the audio to be split into. I’m happy to discuss a per-word rate, with a minimum fee of £250. This kind of work includes non-broadcast in perpetuity usage.
Can you provide character voices?
Yes, I’m best known for my award-winning Santa Claus voiceover. But I also provide a series of horror voices for Halloween, a vintage 1940s newsreader style, and many other gaming and cartoon characters. Please ask for samples or check out my “Santa & Friends Voiceover” in my Voiceover Services.
What format will I receive the audio on?
As standard, I will provide high-quality WAV or MP3 – it’s entirely your choice. I can do other formats but please ask to see if your preferred one is available.
